WCC's Small Business Center: By Esteban Guzman North Carolina's Small Business Centers (SBCs) form a statewide network of busi- ness assistance offices located within each of the state's 58 community colleges. As part of the North Carolina Small Business Center Network, these centers are dedicated to helping entrepreneurs and small business owners start, grow, and sustain successful businesses that strengthen local communities. Small Business Centers provide a variety of free or low-cost services, including confidential one-on-one business counseling, business plan development, marketing guidance, financing and loan prepara- tion assistance, and referrals to valuable business resources. They also offer workshops, seminars, and training programs covering entrepreneurship, book- keeping, digital marketing, government contracting, and other essential business skills. The network's mission is to increase the number and success of small businesses across North Carolina, supporting job creation, economic growth, and stronger local economies. By providing practical education, expert guidance, and connections to funding opportunities and community partners, Small Business Centers serve both aspiring entrepre- neurs and established business owners. North Carolina's 58 Small Business Centers col- lectively serve all 100 counties, ensuring business owners throughout the state have access to quality support and resources.
