17 MARCH 31, 2026 SEPTEMBER 30, 2026 NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH GOLDSBORO We are now meeting the first Thursday of ev- ery month at the Peachtree Street Recreation Center located at 1601 Peachtree Street in Goldsboro at 5:30pm. Why is it important to meet? We aim to build stronger connections by promoting regular meetings for shared communication and foster trust among peo- ple living in the same city. Why not join us? We end our meetings promptly at 6:30pm, so come and give it a go! While we also talk about deterring crime, we mainly focus on community unity and focus on communication. You might even see a City Council member present, or a police officer. Hope to see you Mental Health Association of Wayne County The MHA in Wayne County (919-734-3530) is a non-profit volun- teer organization in Goldsboro, NC, established in 1961.It advocates for quality mental health treatment, reduce the stigma of mental ill- ness, and connect local residents with educational outreach, support services, and system navigation. Your MHA in Wayne County will be present at the following Goldsboro upcoming events: September 1st at 6pm: CALM (Coalition for Addiction and Life Man- agement) at Tommy's Foundation at 105 E. Holly St. September 12th, from 12noon - 9pm: Freedom Fest in Downtown Goldsboro. September 22nd from 7:30am - 12 noon: The Rural Healthcare Summit at The Maxwell Center. September 29th from 10am-1pm: Wayne Community College Safe- ty Fair. September 30th from 10am - 2pm: United Way of Wayne County Career & Community Engagement Fair at the Goldsboro Event Cen- ter. TRAUMATIC BRAIN INJURY (TBI) SUPPORT GROUP Our support group meets every second Saturday of the month at the Peggy Seegars Senior Center on Ash St here in Goldsboro. Please come join us if you have suffered a brain injury or come if you are the caregiver, family member or friend of a loved one who has suffered TBI. We meet from 10am until 11:45am (The Senior Center closes at 12 noon on Saturdays) so come for a time of food, fellowship, and fun. You will be surprised how wonderful and easily engaging our current group members are. Often, we have guest speakers, but sometimes we just "sit, eat, and talk." Delighted if you can join sometime!
