NC FREEDOM FEST RETURNS WITH MORE LIVE MORE LIVE MUSIC AND TRIBUTE TO MUSIC AND TRIBUTE TO HEROES HEROES NC Freedom Fest returns to Downtown Goldsboro on Saturday, September 12, 2026, with an expanded celebration honoring the military and first responders. The free, family-friendly festival begins at noon with a street fair featuring vendors, a car and bike show, kids' activities and static displays. Much of the street fair will continue until 6 p.m., while a new second stage on Freedom Field will showcase local musicians from noon to 5 p.m., including Kaden Jones, Clayton Blackman, Ricky Boyce, Shelby Rae, 581 South and Matt Livingston, with DJ C-Rai between performances. The main event begins at 5 p.m. with awards and a flyover before Nashville- based T. Davis, a Wayne County native, opens for Grammy Award-winning country artist Ashley McBryde. The festival also celebrates America's 250th birthday and the 25th remembrance of 9/11. "America's 250th anniversary, the 25th remembrance of 9/11, and current events in the Middle East have inspired us to create an 'Epic' NC Freedom Fest this year," said Doug McGrath, NC Freedom Fest president.
