W A Y N E C O U N T Y Speak Your Mind! 4 THE BUZZ AROUND WAYNE COUNTY APRIL 2026 We need a reasonable priced steak house in Mt. Olive. Rib Byes is way too expensive. Also, they need to do something about the stupid drivers on 111 from Highway 70 to Highway 55 . They pass on hills and curves meeting other cars head on We attended the recent Daffodil Festival in Fremont. They did a great job, a great crowd, many vendors, fun things for the kids to do, a great flyover and just an overall fun time! Can't wait till next year! I love living in Eureka! With all the recent shootings, is it just me or is anyone else scared to go to Downtown Goldsboro at night. Many people I talk with say they avoid it on purpose! Code enforcement. Our neighborhood has deserted homes and unkept yards; all near the Bryan Sports Complex. Not a good impression for out-of-town visitors to the area. More street lights please, like at highway 42 and state road intersection... How about not building new roads and fixing what we have and update the lines on the roads. It's hard to see the roads at night. Can we do something about the lack of efficiency when replacing reported downed or missing street signs? Why do our taxes keep going up to pay for services for people who have come here illegally? Makes absolutely no sense! Let's talk about Bill Lane Blvd and how dangerous that road is and how that road needs major improvements to be safe to travel on. How about getting the meth and pedophiles off the street! I want better County water! Pikeville! Drivers going up and down Vail Rd at a high rate of speed, some with loud music or mufflers: kids are trying to sleep so they can get up early for school. Stop being selfish and think about others! Can we stop the overgrowth of businesses in the Rosewood area? I am told ANOTHER fancy gas station is going to be built on Hwy 70 across from Smithfield Chicken and BBQ? Fancy Farms or something like that? WTH?! We are losing farm land for concrete y'all. There should be a law allowing drivers to recover damages if they hit a pedestrian crossing 117 on foot between William St. and Wayne Memorial Dr. in Goldsboro. You're asking for a major injury crossing that road on foot. All communities must say NO to electric and water using Al Data Centers!! We need our water and farm land to grow food!! Our electricity will be very high!!! Politicians don't be stupid! Jefferson St. from Royal Ave. to Ash Street needs lots of repair. (leveling and paving) Something needs to be done about St John Church Rd, the area from 111S and St John Church Rd intersection up to intersection of Indian Springs Rd and 111S, aka the triangle of death! Why do our taxes keep going up with no additional services? Give small businesses a better chance at obtaining properties for their businesses vs keeping them high rent / price that only greedy corporations can afford. The Mar Mac, Dudley area needs a grocery store option other than Food Lion. We can get a gas station all day long but I don't understand why we can't get another grocery store. Wish they would enforce the panhandling law in this town. I've had them walk up to my car and look in. You don't know what they could do. Pretty scary! We need a good seafood restaurant! What we currently have is overpriced for the quality of food! Would love to see a good southern restaurant or any for that fact come to 111 south! Build that area up! Why can't Wayne County draw commerce like Wilson and Johnston counties SMH! Seven Springs doesn't need a vape shop, maybe put a convenient store down there or something the residents actually want. Fix Hood swamp road!!!! I would like to see the property owners of abandoned house held accountable. Sell the house, the land, knock it down, rebuild. Thank goodness the tax bill was defeated. Enough of being taxed! Can someone please show us where our Lottery money is going that's supposed to support schools? And I mean a real, actual audit report. Not some baloney fake document, all made up! Very disappointed with the turn out in Wayne County Primary Election with 21.49% of all voters,voting. If you want change, be the change and vote! Can we put a fence around the playground behind the library and improve the bike path at stoney creek park so it wraps around the climbing rocks too! I just want them to reopen Illiano's. The sausage ravioli was the best dish in the county back in the day! The Buzz can be found at all Wayne County Libraries, Post Offices, Harris Teeter, many restaurants, Doctor offices, the mall entrance, Lantern Inn, Dee's Diner and many other loca- tions throughout the County. You might want to get it by the 1st, as they go quick! I would like to know why the school board wont turn the AC on until April? I had to get my daughter from the blood drive at Spring Creek High yesterday because she started feeling bad after she gave blood. It was too hot in the building! Stop approving gas stations and car washes to be built .. So, my home owners insurance went up 25% for no reason and my property taxes 20%! Seems we're paying for the losses of others in disasters, and healthcare and schools for illegals! This is getting way past ridiculous! Community participation and reinvestment in all areas of the community so the coming gentrification is sustainable and beneficial to the entire community. Give minority businesses in Goldsboro and Wayne County same fair access to vendor contracts. Would love to see a school for kids who have Autism or any special needs with teachers who are trained to teach them.! There's plenty of room to develop downtown Pikeville, we could use a restaurant or two We need better paint on the back roads for driving at night. They are dangerous! What do we have to do to bring CENTRAL PARK back? Just simple good BURGERS and FRIES!!! Can I even get a REAL good Po-Boy Sandwich in the county? Asking for a friend!
