They mistake my softness for ease, not knowing how much strength, It takes to move with grace in a world that resists me. I did not inherit fragility II inherited posture, patience, and a voice that knows when to rise and when to wait. I enter rooms already whole, elegance stitched into my spine, My presence speaking before I ever do. I learned refinement from survival, how to pour grace into every step and never spill my power. I do not announce my strength It arrives with me, settled, certain, and unmoved. My elegance is ancestral, passed down in measured words and the way I hold my head high. I am gentle by choice, not because I am weak, But because I know exactly who I am. I carry luxury in my restraint, confidence in my pause, and history in my breath My confidence is mistaken for arrogance, my boundaries for attitude as if self-respect needs permission. They expect inferiority and obedience never elegance, never a Black woman who knows exactly when to smile and when not to.They call me loud before I speak, never noticing how carefully I choose my words. I am not aggressive-I am precise, And I refuse to shrink my voice to make others comfortable. I look back at how my Grandma Dot used to walk with nothingn but elegance, gracefulness, decorum, and sophistication By Jessica Daly Medications help treat illness and manage many health conditions. But using them safely is very important especially for older adults who may take several medications at the same time. Health experts from the Mayo Clinic stress the importance of understanding the medicines you take. Start by knowing the name, dose, and purpose of every medication you use. Always keep a current medication list with you in your wallet, purse, or phone. In an emergency, this information can help doctors quickly understand your care and avoid dangerous mistakes. Over-the-counter medications may seem harmless, but they can interact with prescription drugs and cause serious side effects. Cold medicine, pain relievers, and sleep aids can raise blood pressure, increase bleeding risk, or make you very drowsy when combined with other medicines. Food and drinks can also affect medications. For example, grapefruit, alcohol, and certain foods may change how some medications work in the body, making them less effective or more dangerous. Vitamins and herbal supplements can cause problems too. Finally, learn the possible side effects of your medica- tions and build a relationship with your pharmacist. Pharmacists are medication experts who can answer questions and help you stay safe Sources: Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC); National Institutes of Health NIH) Don't Wait By Beverly Weeks Don't wait to dream big with God. The "what ifs" will try to paralyze you, but failure has beenone of my greatest teachers. The very places I fell are the places that my God grew me. Don't wait to forgive. Unforgiveness is a prison you build for yourself. It will poison your peace and block your purpose. Don't wait to say I love you. Tell your people they matter. Don't wait to send the corny text and plan a fun date night. Write the letter. Protect your marriage like it's sacred because it is! Don't wait to start. Invest the fifty dollars. Take the class, launch an idea, start that ministry, small group, or non-profit, write the book. Obedience doesn't require a perfect plan; it requires you to be willing! Don't wait to surrender your life to Jesus. Storms will come. Things will happen that make absolutely no sense. He sees. He knows. He cares. Don't wait to heal. Hurts, habits, and hang-ups don't disappear by ignoring them. Hurting people hurt people. Allow God to use counselors, friends, pas- tors, or whomever He chooses to restore you. Don't wait to sit in stillness, watch the sunrise, sit in your car in a parking lot, and turn off the noise. Remember God's goodness and ask Him to use YOU to impact others. Take it from this fifty-six-year-old lady. I'm still learning, growing, still messing up, but tee-totally sold out to Jesus. The only thing I regret is waiting. Don't wait Here's The Deal "Why do you run from Me?" Says the Lord. "I am here loving you and ready to help you in a moment's notice. I have been here all along. Only our Heavenly Father knows when I will return, and as I have told you in My Word, "Behold I come quickly.'" You keep putting off being with other believers because of your judgment of them. I am the final judge. Return to me now while you still can. Yes,it is urgent that you come to me now, while you still can. I am still "the way,the truth and the life and no one comes to the Father except through Me." You see the season changing; who do you think does that? It is by God's hand that all things change and all things become new, because of the finished work of my death on the cross for you. My love knows no end. "'I and the Father are one.'" You my prodiga ls it's time for you to come home now. It's time to leave the pig sty you've been living in. Return to your first love,Me. The world and all its deceitful ways cannot love you with the everlasting covenant that I love you with. Yes, go find a church home. Be around other believers. I am the One who established the church to worship God, Me and Holy Spirit and to love and encourage one another. There are churches that will love you and welcome you.
