THE BUZZ AROUND WAYNE COUNTY CHISPA FLAVORS Usually in the Tasty Buzz, we give you recipes! But now the Tasty Buzz is about so much more! We're sniffing out the County's buzziest bites, hottest spots, and flavors worth breaking your diet for. And this month, we found a little Chispa—and WOW, did it bring the flavor! From Latin-inspired favorites to fusion creations that'll have your taste buds doing the salsa, Chispa Flavors is one delicious discovery you'll definitely want to put on your foodie radar. Trust us…this one's got some serious sizzle! Chispa opened in the Goldsboro/Mar-Mac area with a pretty simple idea: serve great rotisserie chicken, bold Latin-inspired food and make it easy to get a good meal without spending a lot of time or money. Our rotisserie chicken is the heart of the menu. Guests can order it as a meal or build their own burrito, rice bowl or salad with chicken and their choice of toppings. We also serve sides like pinto beans, mac and cheese and slaw, along with horchata and jamaica. And if you have room for des- sert, there are churros, flan and tres leches. Our chef is from Mexico, and his background and experience have had a big influence on the food we serve. We aren't trying to be a traditional Mexican restaurant. Chispa is our own mix of Latin flavors, rotisserie cooking and fast-casual dining. One of the things we've enjoyed most since opening is seeing just how much Chispa reflects Wayne County. At lunchtime, it's not unusual to look around and see airmen from Seymour Johnson sitting near Wayne Coun- ty Sheriff's deputies, Goldsboro police officers, State Troopers and construction crews. Then there are families, teachers, healthcare workers, students and people just stopping in on their lunch break. That's the kind of restaurant we want Chispa to be. "Chispa" means "spark" in Spanish. We're still a young restaurant, but we're excited to be here, get to know more of our neighbors and hopefully add a little spark to the Wayne County restaurant scene.
