W A Y N E C O U N T Y Speak Your Mind! 4 THE BUZZ AROUND WAYNE COUNTY JUNE 2026 Compass Self Storage ought to be ashamed to go up on rent every four months!! Is it even legal for them to do that? Whatever happened to having just one monthly payment throughout the year? This wasn't the case when it was Carolina Self Storage! The reason why Wayne County is not drawing commerce is because the towns don't have any water other than Goldsboro. As a result, they can't build new homes and bring in economic development and new companies. Therefore, they got to have a Water Authority for Wayne County if they're going to do these things. In fact, the County has passed a bill establishing the Wayne County Water Authority. To Wayne County Economic Forum, can't you get our community more jobs besides a convenience store and a car wash? Wake up, Wayne County, and let's vote out these people who are not doing anything to improve our community! What a gift to be living in Goldsboro, NC. There is so much goodness here every day when I slow down to see it. I am beyond grateful the Lord led me here. If mount olive has a sewer moratorium, how is someone building a new O'Reilly Auto parts store… Need a large concert venue and other fun family friendly activity venues besides restaurants... Discussion and information about the Municipalities Waste Water system and how it will affect property owners outside of city limits. Who is gonna pay for it. Is it county funds or city funds? Can it be put to a citizen vote vs council vote? Also publish the dates & times of the City and County Council Meetings so that citizens can attend and discuss upcoming issues. Interview Zyaire Webb and John Bell. Bell is the incumbent in Webb is the Challenger for NC house district 10. I think somebody should be telling us why we don't have a budget and stop pretending like it doesn't impact Wayne County. The Challenger is only 22 years old and he's really coming at a lot of issues that we have here in Wayne County. Thank you for paving Hood Swamp Rd! Whatever happened to fighting with your own two hands and not needing guns to settle everything? DOT needs to put cones up so people can't turn into Hasty Mart from 70 and 111S like they have up by Wells Fargo. Some of the neglected roads that have potholes need fixing around town Is it true that we are getting a Dave and Buster's in Berkeley Mall? Better stores in the mall. A new music store would be cool. Eating places in the mall. A Moe's in the mall would be cool. And other eating places. Bring back toy stores. I know retail stores have them but something fun needs to be in the mall. Property taxes should be abolished on all primary residences. It's ridiculous that home owners are being taxed on unrealized gains. At the very least, 100% disabled vets and seniors over 65 shouldn't be paying ANY property taxes. Instead, raise the county sales tax a few percent so that everyone contributes.... not just people that own a home. Oh and PASS A BUDGET. Can't raise the sales tax. Only the people can vote that in. Each and every time we the people vote no. The dip in the middle of the Interstate at 581 and 70 where WaWa gas station and Sheetz is near Rosewood needs to be filled in Railroad tracks on 117 in the city limits need to be fixed correctly. They need to fix the crossings with concrete. For people to actually stop at 4-way stop signs not slow down and keep going. The town of Mount Olive needs to fix the roads also needs to fix the road going to the middle school Let's get a gas station in the Nahunta Area so We don't have to travel so Far to get gas... Would be nice if we could get a good sports bar with good food here. All the good ones are in Raleigh. It befuddles me why we can't get something besides Waffles Houses and Taco Bells on the west side. How about a nice Ace Hardware or another Lowe's so we don't have to go clear across town. How about more upscale restaurant options??? Would also love weekly food truck rodeos here like downtown every Friday night or Saturday. County Commissioners, need to cut property TAXES and have to show transparency in their reporting. As well as a plan to cut the budget. I want to know the details of how much it cost of 1000 county employees to drive county cars home everyday. What's their entertainment costs?? For sure want to how much increase revenue all theses new subdivisions have brought Wayne County??? We need a Doge audit. Walk ways over the highway, busy roads. No more car washes, Make it safer for traffic at business 70 & 111. Goldsboro is being left behind while other towns are growing. Remove the beggers from every corner of town. How embarrassing when people from out of town come to visit…..especially our military's family and friends. Would love to see a school for kids who have Autism or any special needs with teachers who are trained to teach them. Can we put a fence around the playground behind the library and improve the bike path at stoney creek park so it wraps around the climbing rocks too! Our road was paved in the early 80's and needs a lot of attention. I think existing roads that needs fixing should be first instead of creating future roads that will have problems Would like to see more development such as family food establishments (Culver's/What- a-Burger) etc in Rosewood area as well as on Wayne Mem north of the new By-Pass THANK YOU for letting it rip in SPEAK YOUR MIND!!
